There was a great little article in PCWorld Magazine in May that talked about some great things to make things a little easier if your getting into buying and selling on eBay. Good stuff for newbies or veterans of eBay. Here’s the main points:
- Never reply to or click on links within e-mail that are thought to be from eBay(they’re not always and can be very very bad)
- Monitor your My eBay page regularly
- Never click on user created links within auction listings.
- Never let your browser automatically log you on.
- Use antivirus and anitspyware.
- Leave feedback only after your satisfied.
- Buyers, vet sellers carefully.
- Know your merchandise.
- Ask questions.
- Always pay for your purchases with your credit card.
- Don’t use a debit card with Paypal.
- Avoid sending a check.
- Consider conventional e-tailers.
- Bid late.
- Accept second-chance offers only through My eBay.
- As a seller, don’t allow returns.
- Wait a day or two before shipping items.
- Wait for the buyer’s check to clear.
- Send items only to verified addresses.
